Consultations are by appointment only and can be made in person or by telephone to the surgery.  You can consult any of the doctors.  Let the receptionist know which GP you wish to attend and the receptionist will advise you of the first available appointment with this GP.

Urgent appointments are made available each morning.  You will be given one of these appointments if you are taken suddenly unwell and your illness cannot wait until the next routine appointment. We cannot guarantee that you will be able to choose a preferred GP in this situation. If there is no urgent appointment available when you telephone, the receptionists will ask for your name, date of birth. details of your emergency and a contact telephone number.  This information will be passed to the duty GP who will telephone you back.

Extended hours are offered each Thursday morning between 07.30 and 08.15.  Appointments must be made in advance.  For further details please contact reception.

When you telephone to make an appointment, you will speak to one of our reception team.  The receptionist will ask you your name and date of birth or that of the person you are representing.  This ensures that the correct patient details are recorded.

Appointments are scheduled for ten minutes with the GP.

Appointments are for consultations only.  The GP will not complete forms or issue repeat prescriptions during an appointment.

Please Note: Patients that are out of the country and require an emergency medical appointment on return should contact the Practice on their return and not before.

Eearly Morning Consultations

Early morning appointments are available, bookable in advance only, on Thursday mornings for the doctor.  This service is primarily for patients who are unable to attend during normal surgery hours. If you require an early morning appointment please contact reception.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a Practice Nurse rather than a doctor. The nurses see patients who are diabetic, asthmatic, hypertensive, have coronary heart disease, have had a stroke, or suffer from epilepsy. They, also, take blood, offer cervical screening, administer travel vaccinations, administer adult vaccinations, run the annual influenza programme for patients over 65 years and patients with a specific illness, syringe ears, dress wounds, give family planning advice, remove stitches. Information on these services is available from reception.

Interpreters

If necessary the practice can arrange to have the services of an interpreter. Further information is available at reception.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the appointment to someone else.
